“Lilil” Live Mandrake Root + Art

Description

This is ‘Lilil’, a live mandrake (Mandragora officinarum) root that has been grown by me from seed and cared for. It comes together with a live-like ink portrait (phytograph), created with india ink on coffee stained paper, which in addition has been imbued with the root’s juices and sympathetic soil obtained from a peculiar grave.

The color pigments are organic and may change slightly under the influence of UV-light, e.g. greens may vanish. However, the main pigment, which is coffee, is very durable.
